Poppies for remembrance
Thank you to all the primary and high school children, and volunteers from the community who have had a go at making a poppy at one of the drop in sessions & workshops held at Fleetwood Museum, the memorial park pavillon and other venues around the town.
As part of Fleetwood in bloom, and to remember the fallen in this WWI centenary year, the Poppies are now displayed around the town, on the Asda/Freeport roundabout, and in a very special installation at the Euston Gardens by the Willow Garden Project. We have even been on BBC regional news! We hope you will enjoy these special displays in the coming months.
FLEETWOOD IN BLOOM
Fleetwood Town is Going for Gold at this years North West in-bloom competition!
Thank you to the Plant Place, Builder Supplies, Farmer Parrs, Walsh’s and our local businesses for their generous support for this years’ entry to North West in Bloom. This would not have happened without our tremendous volunteers, community groups and schools. Judging took place on the 18th July on a lovely sunny day and Fleetwood was looking its very best.
FLEETWOOD MARSH NATURE PARK
A beautiful, hidden part of rural Fleetwood. Home to diverse wildlife, plants and migrating birds. Favorite haunt of Fleetwood’s fantastic photographers! See below for information on the Town Councils involvement in the site
2018 has got off to a great start with a race night fundraiser in May making over £1000 for this years lights. Keep an eye on the facebook page for announcements on the traditional quiz night in September and the Christmas Ball at the Parkside Suite, which was a sell-out last year!
This years lantern parade and switch-on event will take place on Saturday 17th November, along the usual route. Start time to be announced.
